The best part about it is that it should be a relatively quick curbside build. The most time consuming part will be re-scribing nearly all of the trim! The moldings are pretty faint in this kit, especially the side spear, so I figured that in order to make the foiling go easier, I had better do some scribing. I'm doing it to nearly every piece of trim on the car, so it's going to take a while. I have it about half way done now & then I need to fab the trim on the deck lid, do some filling & then it should be ready to prime. Back to the bench! Steve Here is the color that I plan on using This can of Duplicolor touch up paint is probably 30 years old! Hopefully it will not give me any trouble. A couple years back I had used some Dupli-Color that was 17 years old and it worked great.

I had no issues with this can either. As a matter of fact, it gave me the smoothest paint job I've had in a while! Steve

slusher Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Scripts look great Steve and I really like the color.....
Rider Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 No pics for me, but it sounds like a great project. Good luck with it.
ewetwo Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 It's looking great. The scripts are awesome.
Keesee17 Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 It looks very nice, I can see that I’ll need to dig out my ‘61 and ‘62 and take another good look at them...! I’ve also got ‘64,’ 65, and ‘66 waiting for rebiulds....
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 11, 2018 Author Posted September 11, 2018 The cowl vent detail on this kit is rather faint, so I decided that I should get it foiled & detailed before I pile on anymore clear coat! Steve
John Goschke Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Great work, Steve. Love the cowl vent!

Steve, is the name of the Duplicolor your using called Sunburst??

StevenGuthmiller Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 I started out with a pretty smooth pain job this time, so polishing was a fairly easy task. Got the polishing all finished & replicated the polished aluminum roof panels by sanding some foil before application. Now the arduous task of foiling this monster can begin! Steve
Deuces Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 That's pretty good for 25-30 year old paint....

Deuces Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Yeah, hope I do also..... I have a bunch of those old cans sitting in a wooden cabnet in the basement......

Deuces Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Most of mine are still new cans.... So, they should be good.... I hope!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 When I'm too confident my builds look good, I come to see Steven's work, and have a reality check Even with you showing how you do it, It's still mind blowing!!! If I tried to use a 20 year old spray can, I would probably blow my house up, or it would melt the body.
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 Got it about half done & I'm almost out of foil. Should be able to continue in a couple of days. More foil on order! Steve
