I am attempting to apply foil to the bumpers of a '67 Corvette that were in bad shape. I used some Tamiya epoxy putty to reshape a chunk that was missing, and "Perfect Plastic Putty" to fill the indentations on one half. The foil will not stick to the plastic putty at all. Can I just use any sort of clear coat to seal the putty, or is there something better that it will stick to?

As long as the surface is shiny the type of clear shouldn't matter, honestly it doesn't even have to be clear, just shiny. I just had the same problem with a build that was a flat color, BMF doesn't like porous surfaces at all.

Hi Greg..... I found that coating any surface with Yacht Varnish allowed me to use Molotow Liquid Chrome Pen, and I would imagine that Bare Metal Foil would also like the Yacht Varnish..... worth a try because the surface comes out really shiny.
