crowe-t Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Has anyone used Tamiya TS-67 IJN Gray? Is it a warm, neutral or cool gray color? I'm looking for a cool gray color?
Snake45 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 It looks neutral to me. If you want a "cool" gray, check out Model Master 16473 Aircraft Gray, or the Light or Dark Ghost Grays. WWII German 74 and 75 grays also lean toward the cool side of things.
Brett Barrow Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 It looks pretty neutral to me, both the can lid and the bottle version (XF-77). AS-4 Grey Violet might be a better candidate, it's one of the Luftwaffe grays Snake mentioned (I get my 74 & 75 mixed up)
crowe-t Posted April 19, 2018 Author Posted April 19, 2018 I'll look at those other colors mentioned. Is Tamiya TS-67 a dark color?
crowe-t Posted April 19, 2018 Author Posted April 19, 2018 It's hard to tell from the cap on the can but I appreciate that. Some of Tamiya's caps don't match at all. The cap on the TS-32 Haze Grey is way off.
Steve Osbourne Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 This might help. Since I migrated to Tamiya TS cans years ago I have been making paint chip cards when I try a new color. For the flat military colors I spray half of the paint chips with clear gloss. At least you can see how TS 67 compares to other grays you might be more familiar with.
crowe-t Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 Thanks Steve! I actually ordered a can of TS-67 and it came today. It's the color I'm looking for. It's maybe a hair on the cool side of neutral. I like the color.
Md Sal Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 (edited) which tamiya spray paint grey colour is closest to dark grey? Edited March 23, 2020 by Md Sal
Snake45 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 22 minutes ago, Md Sal said: which tamiya spray paint grey colour is closest to dark grey? "Dark gray" is a pretty nebulous description. Google up Tamiya's paint color chart and pick out the color that looks like what you want.
