ewetwo Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I was trying to figure out a way to store my bottles of Testor's paint and came up with this idea. It will hold 2 bottles deep. Thought I'd share it with you.
High octane Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I have my Testors bottle paint stored in my "hobby drawer" with labels on the caps so I know what color I'm taking out of the bunch. I've seen a guy pick up 14 bottles of paint before he found the color he was lookin' for, and that's why I label the tops of the caps.
peter31a Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 David, show it to us once you have it set up. Interested to see how it looks loaded up.

I lean it up in the back of the cabinet and then take it out and I can pick through. I’m going to see if I shake the whole box if that will mix them all monthly.
High octane Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 When you lay the case down like that you now get paint on the jar tops, which is something I try to avoid.

Why? Is there a reason? I suppose you could make it stand up tilted a bit. I was actually thinking of mounting it to the cabinet so it was up out of the way and at eye level. But I know of someone who is transporting paints to another location and back and thought this would work well.
Bucky Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 That's a very good way to store those little bottles. I always had a problem of having them sitting around everywhere, and I'd lose them! HAHA I recently acquired four of these from a seller on eBay: I now have organized storage for 64 bottles!

When the paint gets to the jar tops it make a mess inside the lid and also if it dries it will make it hard to open the jar as well.
peter31a Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Thanks for showing your case set up with paint in it.
Ro3bert Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I'm going to have to do something like that, I have three cardboard boxes that have one to two layers of paint bottles and like Nick said I have to go through so many before I find the one I want, and that is even though about half of them have colored tops. I just counted them and there are more than 60 bottles and about 12 rattle cans. My work area is a disaster, I'm not the most organized person in the world. If anyone came up to see it they'd want to know how I ever find anything in the mess. That is if they had the guts to ask in the first place. Robert

Robert I wish that I only had 'bout 12 rattle cans, but I know without counting them that there's at least 60 if not more.
GMCMAN52 Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I purchase four of the holders that Bucky has at our local Dollar store, yes for a dollar each. they where in the nail polish department . So check out your dollar store if one is in your area.
Brutalform Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Not Testor bottles, but storing Tamiya this way works for me.
