NYLIBUD Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 (edited) Funny car champ John Force crashes hard into the wall again in Chicago. He also had a very bad explosion/crash,I believe back in Feb.I think perhaps he should give some thought about hanging it up,before he gets seriously injured again,or worse gets killed.I'am a huge fan of John's,and I'd be pretty upset if he was killed in one of his hot rods..Maybe he should just stick to managing all three of his HOT daughters racing careers..Hmmm Just my opinion. espo Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I have also been a fan of John's for a long time. I also would hate to see him get injured. I'm sur it would be hard for him to get out of the car, but there does come a time when it's better to live to tell about it than to have someone write your Obit.
Jim N Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Race car drivers have a different mind set about them. I don't know if it an issue with their egos, or they get such a rush from racing that they cannot walk away. I remember Dale Earnhardt being quoted as saying something to the effect that if he died driving a race car that would not be a tragedy. If he died driving a passenger car, that would be a tragedy. Then there's Neil Bonnett. He had a very serious accident at Darlington and was forced to retire. He did not like retirement and badgered his doctors to release him to race. His next race was at Talledega; his car became airborne and he crashed into the catch fence. Some suggest that he suffered a concussion in that accident, but it was never really confirmed. His next race attempt was at Daytona. He died during a practice when a shock mount broke on his car and he had a head on crash into the wall.
High octane Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 John Force is old enough to know when to quit racing but not all of us make the right choice.
NYLIBUD Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 I think he was quoted, saying that no car is gonna beat him.Or something along those lines.Good luck John.
