Trying to figure out a color to paint it.

Best I can come up with is an enamel that is not a factory color.

Different AMT box top art gave me some ideas. They are just non factory solid colors.I think that maybe because exotic paint jobs don't print well.

Think I will not attempt pearl or lacquers.

Any suggestions for colors?

The best thing i can suggest is if you're not sure what color to paint it go on the internet and look at all kinds of cars till you find a color that pops and go for it..You have to pick a color you would like whether it's a factory stock color or not.

Good advice! I don't care if my models are factory accurate. I like to paint them colors that the factory SHOULD have used!

Testors lacquers are probably more user friendly than their enamels and require no priming. Great color selection too.

Dont limit yourself to just model paints . Walks into most any decent auto parts store and find the Duplicolor paint rack .I use Duplicolor laquers a lot. ( a good primer base is required though )

So your color options are pretty much endless

Thank you for all of the good ideas.

Remembered Kandy Apple Red.That was a big deal when I was a kid.

Now Testors has leftover cans called Candy Enamel.New ones say Transparent.Kind of lifeless name.

MAYBE we'll pick up one or two of those. With silver and gold metallic base coat.Metal flake was the real deal back then but I don't see

silver and gold metal flake basecoat on Hobbylinc or Testors.

Probably just paint car with standout custom gloss enamel color this time.

Tangerine or Grapefruit or Purple.Maybe Lime Gold Metal Flake. Not quite right era though.Metal flake was more mid late 60's.
