Matt And Menard Fords

I asked the members of the two big NASCAR modeling Facebook groups to pick the next two NASCAR builds I do, and these two got the most votes, Matt Kenseth's "Roush All Star Race livery and Paul Menard Menards Ford , decals, when the get here, will be from Stoney's , he is a bit behind right now.

So I started off with getting the missing rollbars in place

The roll bar there see that is going diagonal towards the right is of the chassis, left on the screen is 1/16th Evergreen rod

And the upside down V is 1/16th Evergreen rod

Lets see what we have next, the engines

Chassis's in progress, you can the see the fuel line that I added instead of the using the molded in one

Moving forward, the tires all done

Chassis pretty much done

Ride height and wheel tucking sorted, all good

Menards painted, turst me, its bright , and the correct Menards color

And Matt's, now since this photo was took, I stripped and repainted the body.

Nice Jonathan.. you sure can pump them out.  How many of these new Ford kits do you have in your stash?

Hey Chris,  I have 6 of the Chevy SS kits left, and I think maybe 9 of the Ford kits left I think.

Nice.. those Chevy kits are expensive compared to the Ford ones

I appreciate  the way you fix the tire ride height and the tucking of the tires. It makes such a huge difference in the way the finished model looks.

It depends on where you find them, for whatever reason the  Danica kit was being sold for I think just under MSRP by a a few sellers then it ended up at the outlet stores.

The normal price for the Fords and the Chevy kits is in the mid $20 range.

It really makes huge difference in the overall look, its a shame Revell messed that part up, but least its an easy fix.

On Amazon right now they want $44 for the Chevy and $22 for Danica's Ford.  I would love to get the Chevy but I haven't found it anywhere for less than $30.  I got two of Danica's for $18 shipped... probably should have gotten more.

I would check at Megahobby.com . Two weeks ago I got a Chevy for $23.50 and free shipping. They ship fast too.

Now some bad news,  these may never get finished, Stoney's Customs, who the decals were coming from suffered a large set back when he was getting orders printer, his printed broke,  he is not sure if he can get it fixed.

 I have no idea if my sheets got printed before the failure.

So Stoney's Custom aka Jason was able to secure a new printer and should be back up and running in 3 weeks, so I will be able to complete these.

Look what has arrived finally

While I was waiting, went over the black primer with TS29( SGB) ,  I will do a coat of dull or flat clear once the decals are on.

And got the red around the nose painted and the black trim around the windows done
