Jim N Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 1320Wayne posted an exquisite build of this car and it got me off of my rump to finally build it as well. The kit is a Revell Chevy SS snap kit. The decals are from Patto's Place. I painted the body Bahama Blue, Black and Red, so that if there were gaps in the decals, they would be hidden some what. I lowered the suspension about 1/8" in front and back and I ground down the back of the wheels where the metal axle fits, so the tires would fit in and tuck under the wheel wells. I added some detail to the dash and scratch built the Shark Fin on the back glass. This is my third consecutive build with wrap decals and I am through with them for a while. Thanks for looking.
jchrisf Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Looks great! Very impressive.. I might have to get one of these Snap Kits since the regular kit is so expensive
MarkJ Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Looks Awesome, Jim. Great job on the decals and fixing the stance and tuck of the tires under the fenders.
1320wayne Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Great job. These decals are definitely not for the faint of heart. They will surely make you appreciate most other decaling jobs. For what you have to go through with these I think you did a superb job.
Jim N Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 Thanks for the kind words everybody. I appreciate it.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Great job and awesome decal work! I don't know how you made it through three straight builds with decals like these. I probably wouldn't have made it through this one.
Old Coyote Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Very nice build sir ....... that's quite impressive.
