Howard Cohen Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 This is an annual event to close off a 5 race series in Canada. There are different classes, both pro and amateur, large and small bores. I spent Friday in the paddock as the bikes were being prepared and Saturday watching them race, checking out some new bikes (several manufacturers have bike rides) and watching some stunt riders/flyers Yes, they do touch the ground on some turns... https://public.fotki.com/HowardCohen/superbike-weekend-2018/
Phirewriter Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Very cool, thanks for sharing and for the Concourse of America.
misterNNL Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 OK Howard......what's the thing on the bike in the lead photo?
RustedBronco Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 I would guess its a tire warmer. Keep tire at set temperature before racing.

gtx6970 Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 cool, Ive been to the superbike races at Mid-ohio ( long time ago ) Enjoyed it a lot. i had a 1986 GSXR750 at the time and my knads weren't near as big as the boys riding them that day. But they were wicked cool to watch. Mid Ohio has a sharp S shaped chicane right before the start/finish line straight. In the final lap I watched the lead rider look back over his shoulder to see how close 2nd place rider was. He then looked back forward and while still with the bike almost completely on its side . He proceeded to pull the front wheel off the ground , then brought the bike back vertical ( while front wheel off the ground mind you ) and rode the entire straight on the back wheel, probably hit maybe 100mph
