I can't understand why Fujimi didn't include full engine detail in their new RSR Turbo kit, looks pretty straight forward.:) Maybe the aftermarket will step up.

Cost and convenience. The Enthusiast 911s were tooled in 1985, so it's not like there are CAD files to go in a quickly modify. This kit is a new tool, which would mean a new engine would have to be created which would raise the price on an already spendy (for Fujimi) kit up close to the $50 mark considering the engine would have no practical use in anything else in Fujimi's catalog.

It's a puzzling choice for a model kit in the first place, Porsche only made TWO of the 1:1 cars to begin with, and they weren't entered into that many events.

The bubble economy burst in 1990.  Since then tooling up EM style kits do not make economical sense.

It could be worse.  Gunze no longer produce model kits, Marui denies having anything to do with model cars to these days, and Rosso's factory and warehouse burned down mysteriously.

They have made some semi-full stuff since then in 1/24. But nobody anywhere really makes stuff to the level of the Enthusiast kit (and Revell Premium as well) anymore with maybe the exception of the Tamiya LFA which was way more kit than it really needed to be.

It was meant as a tongue-in-check question.  One of the busiest racing engine bays you can find from that era

Looks like the designers were not giving too much thought to the mechanics.

I'd only buy the engine if it comes with all that hastily constructed and uber-heavily welded components accurately represented :P

I'm hoping Fujimi will do the RSR 3.0 based on the Turbo tooling, much of it would carry over.  If you have any industry connections maybe you could suggest it?
