I had used this stuff for years in my drywall & painting business. I'm almost positive that all other home improvement, paint & even most hardware stores will carry it. It's probably about the same thickness as newspaper, but I shy away from using newsprint because I wouldn't trust the ink touching any part of my freshly painted model. Think of the old Silly Putty trick. Steve

But I think it had an adhesive on one edge similar to a post it note. Never crossed my mind to use something like this on a model! Edited September 7, 2018 by Don Sikora II
Toast Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 You could also try baby oil. I had something similar to what you're describing happen on this Porsche when I taped it to paint the trim. Rubbed it with a Tshirt scrap soaked with baby oil and voila!

Any suggestions for removing it without damaging the paint? Rubbing alcohol or dish washing liquid on a wet kitchen towel will remove the residue. You won't be rolling the dice hoping lighter fluid or other products will FUBAR the finish.
misterNNL Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 Problem solved....I used some goo-gone product with a cotton tip swab then a little warm soapy water. That did exactly what I wanted.
