Mad Slammer Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 (edited) Hi, I've been working on this model for a couple of weeks now... It's an AMT snap fast kit. So far It's been shaved, front bumper removed, rear bumper molded in, it has a parts box rear spoiler and a scratchbuilt front spoiler... I'm currently molding in a hood scoop that was originally the center section of a parts box hood... not sure about the color yet, but I like it so far... hope you guys like it... RichCostello Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 I'm working on one of these too. Going to build a replica of the 73 Cuda that I bought new back then. I have removed the molded in hood and will replace it with the dual scoop hood from the 70 Hemicuda. I'm also using the chassis from the 70, and a lot of the interior parts too. I also had to fill the two giant dimples in the trunk, from the mounting posts. I'm also going to replace the center part of the rear panel so that the license plate is sunken in instead of bulging out. I'm just waiting for the release of the AMT 71 Duster, so I can use the engine to replicate the 318 that was in my Cuda.
espo Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 I like the molded bumpers and the front splitter.
disabled modeler Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 I dont like where this is going...I LOVE it...!!! Keep up the great work..!
mrmike Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Looking good! I used the AMT '74 'Cuda as the basis for a '72 'Cuda used in the TV series Mannix starring the late Mike Connors. I removed the roof and grafted on the hood and front and rear bumpers from the Revell '70 "Cuda.
prostreeter69 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Hey Roberto: I really like what you have going on with this one. Couple questions, first do you know what the wheels are off of? Second any chance you know where that rear spoiler came from? Can't wait to see what color you go with on this one. Jon

The Wheels are from pegasus, the first set is called Shueys... te second (lower picture) also pegasus, Are called Altas... both are mounted normally on the front and with an aluminum sleeve also from pegasus on the rear... rear soiler came from the parts box... not sure but i think it is from a 90's f-150 from Amt, I cut a bit off the sides and made the mounts so it could rest on the trunk... And finally color... not sure yet , looking at some greens...
Mad Slammer Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 Right now I'm stuck between a choice of wheels... like the spokes but the shueys look good too...

Mad Slammer Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 Did some work on the interior and went with the Shueys...
prostreeter69 Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 Nice work on the interior. Good choice on the wheels.
