Jefferson Airplane Co-Founder Marty Balin Dead at 76

RIP Marty. I've always been a fan of Jefferson Airplane. So many 60's rockers are passing. When you're young you don't think that they'll get old & die one of these days. Then as time goes by & you find they do age & die like everyone else.

It brings one back to the reality that we are also getting old and the days and years grow shorter and shorter!

Jefferson Airplane was awesome. I’ve only seen them in concert once. They were opening for the Ramsey Lewis Trio. I was just a kid. My sister took me because we both liked Ramsey Lewis.

1966 , in their original lineup ( no Grace Slick -- this is Signe Andersen . Slick was still doing the Great Society thing with her cousin ) . Note that "Skip" Spence is the drummer here , too . He went on to form Moby Grape in '67 or so.
