(Spoiler alert: Results through quarter-finals below.)

Anyone else watching Battlebots? Ever since I just happened upon this about episode 3 of this season, it's been My New Favorite Thing. I LOVE watching these evil Roombas tearing each other to bits.  I believe tonight is the Finals.

Who do you think will win? I don't have any favorites, but over the season, I thought Tombstone, Bronco, and Huge were the bots to beat. But all three got eliminated--Tombstone (#1 seed in the finals) got destroyed by the #16 seed, who only sneaked into the tournament by surviving a 6-bot free-for-all.

Who will win?

I haven't watched this show in years, but I used to be pretty into it....... There was one machine I always enjoyed watching, it was a small spinning dome-shaped robot with claws coming out the top. Ripped anything in it's way to pieces!

Friday's episode DELIVERED THE CARNAGE. I love the show. There was one match on Friday that had parts scattered everywhere. The other fights weird incredible, too. It was an awesome episode.

I prefer the Fembots from the Austin Powers movie.

True, but not as much as last week's, when Rotator just destroyed Icewave and HUGE got broken completely in two for the second time (after starting the season VERY strong). And I never DREAMED I would see Bronco get so thoroughly pwned as it was by Whiplash. That kid did an AWESOME job with that!

I'd have never guessed in a million years that BiteForce would take the whole tournament. That thing just seemed to fly under my radar all season, quietly winning without much fanfare. One to watch next year, though! B)

Saddest robot of the year: Chomp. Its only weapon was a spike-hammer thing that seemed to be mounted on some old Erector Set parts. I don't think it did any damage to any other bot all year. All it had going for it was its self-righting AI programming, which seemed to get an awful lot of use every bout.

Several of the robots shot flames, but I don't think flames were any kind of factor in any match I saw. Several bots caught fire, but from internal causes, not from being burned from a foe. I assume the rules prohibit the bots from dispensing a burning liquid like napalm. Now THAT would do some damage! (Come to think of it, the rules must prohibit shooting water, too--that would seem to be an effective weapon.)

I can hardly WAIT for this to start again!

That's what I meant to say. The one in which Icewave just got shredded. That episode could have been a "greatest hits" compilation.
