If the special effects folks who created the Millennium Falcon scrounged Panther fan housings, they'll work just fine in this swell FrankenChebby. Hah! I thought I'd seen 'em there, too!

Gumball Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 Update #2 almost done guys, just the trans and the fan.

I hope to other find a electric fan somewhere without ripping apart a perfectly good model, and/or do it the fun way and makeshift my way to a electric rad fan.
Gumball Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 Model lessons with gumball, if it doesn't fit... Make it fit with a dremel tool!
Belugawrx Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 You haven't visited the WANTED section ,...have you ? any decent Revell NASCAR kit has one or two of those in it....

Even though Johnny started out saying this was a 1/24 or 1/25 model, in the same post there it also this... So i'm pretty sure suggesting 1/25 parts sources isn't going to help. Nice weathering work, btw. The paint on the body has a nice weather worn look.

And yes it is a 1/16 scale the description had a typo in it. Just noticed it and fixed it. Edited October 18, 2018 by Gumball
Gumball Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 bottom end of the car is now finished. Made myself a driveshaft and cut up the trans.
Gumball Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 (edited) Custom electric fan. Pic is sideways All I did was take the stock fan and glue it to a wheel backing piece off the same glue bomb charger I pulled the engine from. After that I slapped some painted wire mesh from a screen door on there. I topped off the look by using an air filter from a 1/25 scale 63 corvette as the "Electric motor". Gumball Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 (edited) Makeshift fan update Sorry guys, I love your ideas on the fan housings, but only problem is that It would take a while for those parts to come in. I'm exited to get this thing done, so I make shifted myself a fan similar to some of the fans you guys showed me. Edited October 17, 2018 by Gumball
Mr. Metallic Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Your fan solution works well based on the theme of the build you've got going on. It's like a guy just wanted to keep his old car running, so through a little ingenuity, threw whatever he could into it. Looking forward to seeing this one On the Shelf
