Tom Geiger Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 I used to have a Vic, mine was a fancy civvy model that was my grandfather's last car. The Chevy on the left belonged to one of the guys from the Liars Club. I do have Greg and Dwayne's resin and plan to build it just like mine!
NYLIBUD Posted March 5, 2019 Author Posted March 5, 2019 Yea I remember seeing those cars when you posted them.I love them.I just like police cars, any brand.
NYLIBUD Posted March 6, 2019 Author Posted March 6, 2019 Got the new console.I'm gonna put that in this week..And like I said, still waiting on a small front chin spoiler, under the bumper.

Tom Geiger Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Hadn't thought about the Caprice. I will be building my Vic from the resin kit.

The 1989ish body style is produced by Greg Wann and is the subject of a thread on this board. I purchased a copy from him, cost approx $100. The body was mastered by Dwayne and is absolutely perfect in every detail. Parts are included to make every year of that body style. The casting quality is terrific too. Get one...
espo Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 Revell offered a basic Caprice Police kit at one time. They also had a wagon I think that could be converted into a '57 looking styling or as a panel.
NYLIBUD Posted March 10, 2019 Author Posted March 10, 2019 (edited) So I put on the lower front lip spoiler on the Crown Vic.I think it looks pretty good.We drilled it on with the hardware I bought and took us about an hour. But it was cold out.And a rear window, sort of deflector spoiler on top of the rear window..Thats the best I can explain it.And I installed the center console, and thats nice,& tight. So I just have to hook up the gauge pod????.Do that in the Spring Edited March 11, 2019 by NYLIBUD
NYLIBUD Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 (edited) So the Blues Mobile is pretty much finished.I also installed a new console. The chin spoiler wasn't to hard to put on.A buddy and myself installed it the other night in 40 degree weather, with a great flashlight. And the small spoilers, for lack of a better word, are just double sided taped on..And as I said, sometime when the weather gets warmer,I'am gonna install the gauge pod, with an oil pressure and Volt meter. Also I said it before. But this car just moves. It is a rocket..I know it's the Mustang GT motor 4.6,but with the Flowmasters, and the gearing,I guess,it just seems like it's even faster. And it rides like a brand new Caddy.Just simply a great car, built on a great platform. The Panther platform. The last of the last(2011)..And there about a million U Tube videos from fans of this iconic car.For me,I just love the lines of the car,and thats it....And IMO,it's gotta be black Edited March 13, 2019 by NYLIBUD
NYLIBUD Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 Ah well,so I saw these red smoked tail lights for my Crown Vic.Really cheap on eBay.Had to have them.Im hoping they look good with the black car.
espo Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 While they look neat I wonder how much the tint will cut down on the guy behind you being able to see your brake lights. Locally I have seen this done on some cars. Following them the first thing I noticed was that their brake lights were barely noticeable. Theirs looked like your photo but they may have been darker.
NYLIBUD Posted March 14, 2019 Author Posted March 14, 2019 Yea I'm also hoping they won't be too dark.I wasn't even planning to buy them, then I saw a set on a Marauder ,in black, and man it looked good.If they turn out to be way to dark,I'll just throw the originals back on.
webestang Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Vic looks amazing!! I would love to find a set of those wheels for my 96 Vic.

Thanks, well the tail lights are on back order till sometime in April. But I'll just try some light coats of VHT Night shades, smoked spray paint.Just a light smoke look, nothing too dark. NYLIBUD Posted March 18, 2019 Author Posted March 18, 2019 The Blues Brothrrs....Shoot fool, they still owe you money.Would it help if we told you we are on a mission of GOD?
NYLIBUD Posted March 22, 2019 Author Posted March 22, 2019 (edited) A friend of mine had a 2008 Crown Vic interceptor that he supercharged.Well he sold the car,a couple of years ago,but kept the charger.Well guess what's going on the car next. Then I think at that point, the car will be done.At least the big things. There are still some details and some painting to do.Like the painting around the side windows. And I'm just going to wait to buy the tail lights.I practiced on one of the original lights that I took off the car.Im no expert, but I think I t came out way to dark, even with only two lite coats. And the very last thing is installing the roof top siren. NYLIBUD Posted March 23, 2019 Author Posted March 23, 2019 Ahhhhhhhhh. Its a nightmare.Someone wake me up.
Xingu Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 I used to absolutely hate those donks. My stance has softened a bit and I now appreciate the work that goes into them. I realize now it is just a different group of folks that have their own niche in car culture. Not much different than low riders, jacked up 4x4 trucks, pro street cars or tuners. Some are ugly, but some are done very well. They are obviously not the safest thing on the road, but neither are over the top 4x4 trucks or prostreet cars.

No your right, everybody is entitled to their own likes and dislikes.I'm sure a ton of work went into these cars, but they're just a little bit too loud for my taste.
