Is there any database online that I can use to check the release date of kits ?

Interested in the date for a AMT 41 Plymouth #6583

You could try Scalemates. But the best source is the book by Coulter & Shelton, The Directory of Model Cars/Prices.

Scalemates is the only one I have found...but they don't have the facts right all the time, I have seen in their product timeline that they in some cases lists two completely different kits as having the same origin.
