Looking pretty good so far. .stance looks bang on .

Thanks Andre.  Made no adjustments, Fujimi got the stance right out of the box.

Removed the center console and made blank door cards.  The stock interior that comes in the kit is on the right.

Fabricated a simple ECU from rectangular rod.  I'll wire it after interior is painted.

Doing some work at the back end of the car Dann, I'll post pictures soon.  Thanks for your interest.

One of the things I like most about this hobby is getting a chance to study my current build subject.  I had always dismissed the 964 as one Porsche missed the mark on.  However after spending time researching these cars and taking time to admire the lines I have a new found appreciation for them. It may not be my first choice of Porsche but I would be proud to own one and would very much enjoy driving it.  Bravo Porsche.

Good ideas and great work here as in all of your WIP's, JC. Looking forward to see more...

Thanks Thomas.  How is your 964 project coming along?

It's actually on hold for now... The adaption work on the wheels became a bit annoying at some point, so I "boxed" it in order to finish it later on. Working on a muscle car from my birth year now...

  • Kit glass had a hole for the rear wiper, enlarged it to represent a cabin exhaust port
  • Replaced stock exhaust with straight racing exhaust
  • Fabricated a tow hook
  • Filled the license plate mounting holes

Great work JC. The Porsche looks already so "race"...

And this is a great idea, if you don't want to replace the rear window glass with clear sheet. However it still has that rear window heating structure in it...

Thanks Dann & Alex. The heating grid in the rear glass is unfortunate Thomas.

Hey, JC, wouldn't waxing the inside of the glass hide the defroster lines.....if you really were bothered by them?

Removing the defroster lines would require lots of tedious sanding and polishing, think I'll leave them.

I was rather thinking of replacing the whole rear window with a piece of clear sheet, which is what I'm planning to do on my 964 RS 3.8. Shouldn't be an issue give the rather straight shape of the window. There is a guy called Alex G. on scalemates.com who did quite an interesting WIP on the Fujimi kit. He replaced the window too and it looks good. https://www.scalemates.com/profiles/mate.php?id=12266&p=albums&album=31587#66

The most challenging part is separating the rear window from the 1-piece glass without breaking the rest of it.  I'll give it some thought Thomas - thanks for the link.

You have a point there, JC! I am using those PE micro saws (Tamiya, for example) for jobs like that. And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to talk you into it - it looks great as is!
