afx Posted November 24, 2018 Author Posted November 24, 2018 Removed the center console and made blank door cards. The stock interior that comes in the kit is on the right.
afx Posted November 24, 2018 Author Posted November 24, 2018 (edited) Fabricated a simple ECU from rectangular rod. I'll wire it after interior is painted. Edited November 24, 2018 by afx

Dann Tier Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Love all these new updates, bud!!...looking GREAT!!!, glad to see you back at it!!
afx Posted November 25, 2018 Author Posted November 25, 2018 Thanks Dann Added front air ducts included in some of the racing versions of the kit and opened the holes Added a tow hook Cut in the racing window in the side glass
afx Posted November 26, 2018 Author Posted November 26, 2018 (edited) Doing some work at the back end of the car Dann, I'll post pictures soon. Thanks for your interest. One of the things I like most about this hobby is getting a chance to study my current build subject. I had always dismissed the 964 as one Porsche missed the mark on. However after spending time researching these cars and taking time to admire the lines I have a new found appreciation for them. It may not be my first choice of Porsche but I would be proud to own one and would very much enjoy driving it. Bravo Porsche. Edited November 26, 2018 by afx

Tommy124 Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Great work JC. The Porsche looks already so "race"... And this is a great idea, if you don't want to replace the rear window glass with clear sheet. However it still has that rear window heating structure in it... 13 hours ago, afx said: Kit glass had a hole for the rear wiper, enlarged it to represent a cabin exhaust port
afx Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 Thanks Dann & Alex. The heating grid in the rear glass is unfortunate Thomas.

afx Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 Removing the defroster lines would require lots of tedious sanding and polishing, think I'll leave them.

I was rather thinking of replacing the whole rear window with a piece of clear sheet, which is what I'm planning to do on my 964 RS 3.8. Shouldn't be an issue give the rather straight shape of the window. There is a guy called Alex G. on scalemates.com who did quite an interesting WIP on the Fujimi kit. He replaced the window too and it looks good. https://www.scalemates.com/profiles/mate.php?id=12266&p=albums&album=31587#66

I'll give it some thought Thomas - thanks for the link.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to talk you into it - it looks great as is!
