Dominik Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 (edited) Here we go. Porsche Panamera Turbo - Revell, 1:24, 07034 Funny thing is, that in good old Germany the kit as built model really rare to find is. For me as a Porschenut it was no question to get it and build it. Whats to say? The body has a lot of sinkholes, sprues on the terribleset points...but the most of all badness was the plastic "in blue manufactured". i had a lot of trouble to get a light base coat without a shiny blue...i think about four or five layers of paint. The work on its self was really easy like all new kits from Revell. Fitting and details are well made - excluded the wheelhouses, specially the stance. I glued the parts for the wheels at last (as always) to get a "right stance" in my view. While they put a RHD Dashboard in, i built it as a Japanese one. Also i glued the hood, because there is only an engine under a big plastic cover...thats the way it goes today in modern cars. All is hidden. Painted out of the rattlecan, no clearcoat. I know, it could be better...but i'm very pleased and happy with the result. Thanks for your attention. Commenat welcome as always Edited November 29, 2018 by Dominik
aurfalien Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Hi, This is very nicely done! I was eye balling this kit, seems to have good engine detail in it based on the instruction sheet, does it?
Dominik Posted November 29, 2018 Author Posted November 29, 2018 thank you Brian. Yes it has a nice engine. The details from the kit are really good - it is a buy worth. defenly. I glued the hood, thats why i have no engine photos.

Brian, it has a decent engine, the issue is, that the top of the motor has a huge cover, like most modern cars now, especially European cars, so once built you cant see the motor at all. Much like the Revell AMG GT kit. Dominik you did a great job man. You're 100% right about the sink holes. I couldnt believe had bad they were and where they were located. Revell made a mess of what really could have been a beautiful kit. It's still worth the build if you're a Porsche fan, but Revell definitely did a bad job on the design. I also agree on the choice of molding colour. I have no idea why companies are making kits "molded in colour" anymore. Snapper kits for the kids, sure that I get, but what really is a detailed glue kit aimed at the adult builder, mold the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH things in a white or light grey. Black for chassis/wheels I get but bodies should be done in a light colour to allow people to paint them a lot easier. The AMG GT in yellow, another crappy base colour, the McLaren 570S orange, another bad choice, and this metallic blue was bad as well. I did mine in a Porsche metallic blue so I was ok, but I can only image how hard it was to cover up that blue with white. Nice work Dominik.
Red318 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Looks good. The Panamera is not my favourite Porsche from a style point of view but inside they are really nice. A bit disappointing about the sink holes on a modern kit though.
peekay Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I don't even like these cars but your model is really nicely done.
Gramps46 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I agree with the other comments that you did a nice job with this kit.
Scalper Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Nice work I really like the window trim work. but no panel lines ?
