Snake45 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 This is the AMT 2016 Camaro snapper, molded in “pearl red,” actually sort of a rose color, especially compared to the red prepainted Revell 2013 I built. I scribed out all the panel lines, removed all the molding lines, polished the plastic with TRIM nail sticks and some Wright's Silver Cream, and did the normal detail painting. Tires were sanded and wheels were hit with Krylon Matte spray. Parts fit on this one is tight—I had to enlarge some of the mounting holes a little. But the worst was the windows. They were SO tight it took me about a dozen tries before I finally got them to snap into place. I was just about to saw off the side windows when they finally fit on my last try. I should have hit the lower edge of the side windows with black paint or Sharpie to kill the “fiber optic” glare, but there is NO WAY I am taking that window back out to do it. I might never get it back in again! Otherwise, this was a pretty straightforward and enjoyable (more or less) build.
ismaelg Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Nice! I LOVE that car. Actually, I want that to be my next car. I want to build a model of it. But been AMT turns me down...
cobraman Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Looks good with just a polish. I have to try that sometime.

Polishing plastic makes for great winter projects, when it's too cold to get a good paint job. I have several lined up to do this winter. Give it a try!
