BIGTRUCK Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 (edited) I have 2 of these 1 Merit kit and 1 from Smer . This is the Smer kit . It's a multi piece body so there was some seam filling .The only thing I changed is is a slightly taller rear resin tire and how the rear axle sets in . Tamiya metallic blue paint. Pretty simple kit. TomZ Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Nice work! Are the Merit and SMER kits the same?

Gramps46 Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 I like what you are doing with the Talbot. I see the hood opens, does your kit have the engine? I really like these old Merits and am so glad SMER came out with them.
ismaelg Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Hi Ken! That is looking really good! I was not aware they were the same. Thanks,

BIGTRUCK Posted January 14, 2019 Author Posted January 14, 2019 (edited) Hi Izzy Merit on bottom(great artwork) Smer on the top. Plus Smer had this Alfa Romeo, don't know if there is a Merit Alfa Romeo Edited January 14, 2019 by BIGTRUCK
Pico Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Highly detailed kits for the Alfa and Talbot Lago are available from the Indycals/MP2 Hobbies shop on Shapeways. If you want, buy soon as Shapeways will increase their prices on Feb. 1 and these kits will be deleted due to the increase. I haven't seen the kit but absmiami has one and he liked it. BIGTRUCK Posted January 14, 2019 Author Posted January 14, 2019 The kit came with 2 round number stickers instead of decals. They were done well so I used them, bad idea. They were probably good for a nice flat surface but would not stay formed to any curved surface. Had to repaint the hood but got lucky with the body. Found some bigger better round numbers in the 1969 Corvair kit. Used some decal set and they snugged right in. Should complete this build today.
