I think I finished this in March or April of this year. Some time before I started posting here. No one's seen this yet in the club's I belong to, as I build mostly just for my own enjoyment now. Don't do contest's anymore either as I had my "15 minutes of Glory" already :D .

A friend of mine gave me an article out of a Mag several years ago with several drawings of Thom Taylor's, on '34 fords. One particular drawing got my brain going and it took me about a year, off and on to finish it.

The convertible sedan roof is scratch-built. The window area is chopped considerably and shortened and totally reshapped. It took a dozen pieces to complete the windows change.

The fenders and cowl area were stretched a scale 4 - 1/2 inches. The front fenders were raised just a tad, and the grill laid back just a tad also. I love color, so I wanted to use as many as I could, and yet keep everything as subtle as possible.

The main color is Duplicolors tangerine "Flake", with 3 coats of Plasticote clear rubbed out. I love the elegance of coninental kit's and spare's, so of coarse this needed that "Classy" look. Stock chrome trim, a little bit of a dump in front, some nice wheels and tires, and some detail work, and she's already for some serious "CRUIZIN" - LOL B)

Wow that is gorgeous! Great job with the proportions. Looks like it might have come right from the desk of Jack Davis or Pryor Passorino! TIM BOYD

Hey George :o Thanks

Good to hear from ya.

Testor's makes this amazing paint flattener that's called DULL COTE #1260 Flat Lacquer Overcoat, available at most hobby shops. The secret to any good finish is prep. I sealed all the body work on the roof with a two stage urethane primer that stop's any type of "Ghosting". Zinzzer BIN will do the same thing, but there is usually more build-up.

Sand and lay down a smooth couple of coats of color>LACQUER< wait 15 min, to half hour and then hit with a lite coat of the Dull Cote, let flash for 15 min., followed by a heavier wet coat and let dry over-night.

The finish looks even better in person. I highly recommend it for interior work also.

It's a great product :)
