ewetwo Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 I got this on EBay for $8.00 including postage. Thought it would be cool in my display. Unfortunately even as a kid. I was never successful with decals. I put them in water and as I slide them to take them off the backing. They just came apart. So it’s an unmarked car.; LOL!
espo Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 I have never built this kit, but the body proportions look good. The light package seems overdone but somewhat close to what was used when this kit was first released. Your decal issues more than likely had to do with the age of the decals that may not of been the best quality even when new.
ewetwo Posted February 21, 2019 Author Posted February 21, 2019 Thank you. I too thought the lights were a bit big. But it was fun none the less. A bit of detailing. I opted for the dual exhaust instead of the lake pipes. Red trim on the wheels to break up the black. Funny. The chrome detailing looks better in real life. Not so much in the photos. Maybe next time I'll fill in the holes and just one make it a hot rod. I've never done any body work before.
Sledsel Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Looks really good. Always liked this kit and with a little extra work displays very nicely. Espo is right, the proportions on this kit are very good.
ewetwo Posted February 21, 2019 Author Posted February 21, 2019 Thank you. I’ve got to black wash the grill and work on the headlights yet. But am bummed the decals fell apart.
