This is my current WIP it was (hehe) a Revell 1968 L-88 Corvette Convertable and has had some minor (I will laugh again...lol) bodywork done to it. This is actually the 4th body it has been through. I will show the 3 diffrent bodies that I have pics in the order of their making.

Body #2 (never had pics of the first as it wa s a basic mockup and I bought a complete kit to use afterwards.)

Body #3 Decided to go with a Camaro roof...it's the same roof as the current "sucessful" KKV

The current body of the KKV.....yes..I finally go the sucker painted...but those pics will come alot later......muhahahahahahaahaha...lol

Aside from all of the body and interior mods the kit is basically box stock. Including the motor, blower setup, the suspension, and engine bay stuff.

I'm not sure if there is a 3 pic per post rule but I will go by that incase there is.

First basic mockup of the 4th body. I left the Vette's A-pillars intact so I wouldent have to scratchbuild them.

Can't decide weather the roof is really low or the motor is really high......hmmmmmm

More to come!! lol

yeah...that primer was a good way to tell where I missed spots and did a good job of it too...lol

Custom68Vette027.jpg

I WAS going to use these wheelsand tires but I later decided to go with something that looked a little better. I think most of you wil agree on that too.

Just a quick motor shot......

Up next: INTERIOR!!!

Custom68Vette006.jpg

I removed the radio and heater controlls from a 04 ZO6 and put em here.....fit perfectly!

Custom68Vette023.jpg

I cut out the console and smoothed it out and then glued it back in.....came out decent...but with windows less than 1cm tall i wasnt too worried with interior details...lol

Custom68Vette021.jpg

The subwoofers came from the AMT Rides Edition 66 Nova...worked for this. Seats are from the R/M Honda Civic....but again they didnt last long...too wide for the slim Vette interior

Pancaked the hood. Cut out the L-88 "lump" out and made the opening smaller by gluing and puttying the remainder of the hood in place.

Custom68Vette048.jpg

Just a basic mockup....I'm gonna sand the body a little and give it another coat of Grape Pearl then clear it and let it dry....I kinda rushed the painting process and had a few dust lumps...lol

That's all for now folks!!!

Now THAT'S Wild!!!!

Do you plan to make it sit lower in the back? On your last mockup pic, the back looks a bit too high.

Thanks,

Thanks Ismael!!

I am trying to lower the back just a little bit. I want it to have a muscular stance. I'm shootin for this stance.....

HeavyChevyPics053.jpg

And yea that's why I'm known as Chevellekid! lol

But I hope to have it done in time for the NNL East.....shouldent be too hard...lol

Thanks!

Very cool, I kinda dug the first pic without the a pillars, almost gave it a cantilevered roof! If you revisit it in different build, try the roof off a Chevelle like your real one pulled back further on the decklid area and try the a pillarless top too!
