fumi Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 It was available in hobby shop here 2 weeks ago, direct import from Japan. Sold out when I reached the shop after work.
fumi Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Tamiya's "model to watch out for" turned out to be the R/C GR Supra. No word on 1/24 scaled kit as of this moment.

Wouldnt be surprised if the 1/24 Supra were to follow later this year since they have the deal with Gazoo. Also wonder if the rally Toyota Yaris is a possibility too, Tamiya hasn't done a new rally car for a long while that I can think of (the Gazoo Toyota TRD 86) since they already did the RC car last year.
martinfan5 Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) A look at the built up of the AMG And Tamiya also had on display the upcoming reissue of their Countach kit , with a clear coat Edited May 8, 2019 by martinfan5
Jhedir6 Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Oh great, now I have to buy more AMG's.....isn't 9 enough already Tamiya? Nice to see a new wheel set tho, but , I would have liked to have seen Tamiya include or swap out the enduro lights for a set of sprint lights, cause this car did run with both. The decal sheet looks fantastic.
martinfan5 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) I think the notable thing here is the reissue is going to have the parts modeled in white instead of orange. Edited May 9, 2019 by martinfan5

That and it's a new decal sheet (the original kit has a two piece set-up), that's missing several logos and the 24hrs of Le Mans stuff - again.

Jhedir6 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Nice that the 787 is molded in white, I love that. Too bad about the Le Mans decals, it definitely looks as if Tamiya and the FIA/ACO could not come to terms on the licencing for the LeMans/Total names to be used, which is just too bad. Either way, I've got the TSO50 and I'll get a couple of the 787's too I'm sure. Also the AMG, cause you can not have too many AMG GT3's with all the great liveries out there.
afx Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 I have the original release that I'm unlikely to build. If anyone is interested let me know.
niteowl7710 Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) Beemax has got your race car Lancers, but Hasegawa was all - but you need STREET caaaaaars. Edited May 9, 2019 by niteowl7710

The Datsun 240 is a good start. But, I'd really like to see a '71-'72 U.S. spec Toyota Celica. A left-hard drive Toyota 2000GT would be cool too. Two others I'd like to see. A '70-'72 Toyota Hi-lux pickup truck (my dad had one). And a stock, non racing, Datsun 510. Here ! Here ! I would love to see an early Hi-Lux (or , even more-so , a Stout ! ) , early Celica , etc. , etc. !
martinfan5 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) How about a couple of new tooling from NuNu And some displays from Beemax Edited May 9, 2019 by martinfan5
Justin Porter Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 That IMSA 280ZX is going to be so choice. Can't wait to build it in PLN's scheme.

I have been in several bidding wars for this kit on ebay that I lost, to the point that I was about to contact Tamiya to ask if they would consider re-releasing the kit. I guess I was not the only one, and, as noted above, there is pretty strong demand on the secondary market. I will be ordering both Japanese Le Mans winners that Tamiya is releasing.

Working off the pictures I've seen, Beemax's display is all soon to be released kits. The BMW M3 Evo Sport II, Mitsubishi Lancer & Starion, the BTCC Toyota Carina, and 1/20 F-1 modified reissues of the BT 52B, and MP4/4C. So far I haven't seen any "future projects" section, but the show doesn't open to the public until Saturday so we're working with manufacturer and vendor sourced photos right now. I've seen at least one shot of the Platz table that has a rapid prototype of the M8 GTE lurking in the background, so that's there, but nothing of either 911 or the Audi...as they say - more to come. Those Beemax easy kits (280zx/M1/RX-7) seem to have shifted to Nunu now. I'm not sure if the Beemax 911 SC RS is a standard kit or easy kit. Edited May 10, 2019 by fumi

I'm not sure if the Beemax 911 SC RS is a standard kit or easy kit. It's been a Beemax Standard kit, it's a Gr. B Rally car. The Easy kits were a 280Z, BMW 320i Gr. 5, BMW M1 Gr. 5, and now evidently an Gr. 5 RX-7 has been added (unless that replaced the 320i) Internally it's all the same company, so I don't think it really matters who the end company is that makes it, it's just who's the investor/distributor. When you think of the sheer volume of kits Beemax has to produce, maybe "dumping" the Easy Kits into the NuNu "line" is the simplest choice to make sure they get done in a timely manner. Because Beemax needs to get out - in addition to the BMW M3 Evo Sport II, Toyota Carina BTCC, Mitsubishi Lancer RAC Rally, Mitsubishi Starion Gr. A JTCC, and the two F-1 modified reissues (Brabham BT 52B and McLaren MP4/2C) Porsche 911 RS SC Gr. B Rally Peugeot 305 Maxi Toyota Starlet Touring Nissan Sunny Touring BMW M3 E46 GTR BMW E46 S2000 ETCC BMW E90 WTCC Audi A4 BTCC Porsche 935 K3 Numero Reserve '79 Le Mans Porsche 935 K3 Hawaiian Tropic '79 Le Mans 2013 Chevrolet Cruze AON Macau/Japan GP WTCC Plus there's a Rally Version of the Starion, another variant of the Lancer, still an unreleased kit from the AE92 Corolla Levin, and probably another S4 and Audi S1 if they want to have paired Tarmac/Dirt versions like they did with their other rally kits. martinfan5 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Here is a shot of the BMW M8 So far no one has really been interested getting good photos of the Taxi, so these had to be cropped in some Like James said, I am sure we will get better shots of some of these as the weekend plays out.

I've been reliably informed the R8 and 911s (RSR & GT3) kits are there in some form. But I have as of yet been able to mind control someone into actually taking photos of them.
