Geno Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 If you have decals printed on white paper, when you trim them close to the line, what steps do you take to fix the white edges so you don't see them once applied? Thanks.
Dave G. Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Why not print to water slide decal paper, then the edges are clear and the white paper goes in the trash ?
Geno Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 Dave, the water slide decals are printed on white decal paper because of the image that's on it requires the white background. Some I get are on clear decal paper. Just trying to figure out how to remedy this.
John Pol Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 some people use what ever color the body is going to be and try to match the background to the color around the decal if you know what I mean
TooOld Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Get a set of different color Sharpies , pick a color close to the paint of your model and drag the Sharpie along the cut edge of your decal then let it dry for an hour before dipping the decal in water . The color of the Sharpie doesn't need to be a perfect match , as long as it's a similar color the edge will disappear . I've been doing this for a while and it works great ! And don't use Flairs or other brands of markers , they all run in the water no matter how long they dry . Sharpies are the only markers that are truly water proof .
Geno Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback, I do have a set of fine line sharpies in my desk, I'll give that a shot.
