Pete68 Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) I started the truck back in 2008 and this is far as I got. Thanks to Jeff and his awesome KW oil rig gave me the motivation to dig this old build out and finish it. The cab is a Athearn Kenworth I added cab skirts and made a farr air cleaner and a top mounded air conditioner. I will also be added a duel winch. The frames do running gear is a 1/87 Russian off road truck kit. Here’s some pics of the parts layout and a couple of pic for reference use only. I had the privilege to see the solid white truck in person in a junkyard and took some pics of it, when I can find them I will post it. Edited April 19, 2019 by Pete68

Pete68 Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) Vince I put it in the description what the chassis and running gear was it’s a 1/87 Russian truck kit that I bought from Romania back in 2008. Everything in the pic besides the cab and the winch came with that truck. I don’t even know if they still sell the truck . Thanks for the complement Edited April 19, 2019 by Pete68

gotnitro? Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) Very nice has a great heavy duty look Glad I got ya back into working on it Really like the spare tire carrier , something mines gonna have inspired by the US Army 6x6 Buffalo.. Edited April 19, 2019 by gotnitro?
Vince66 Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 Very cool looking the part. At the old place used to be a heavy axle repair & parts shop was always getting these trucks in from around the area and parting them out. Shame really but they sit tall in the saddle i'm 5'5" tall and the bumpers were either at forehead height or above.
bigred63 Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 Cool build, you gotta love them Russian Trucks. Are you going to add the winch to the truck, and what type of trailer are going to use? There was a German company called Preiser, from Rottenburg ob der Tauber, produced some of the best model kit out there. All the Vehicles were of German companies, but what details they had. Check out the company.
Pete68 Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) Thanks i’ve been building Kbri Kits for over 20 years and other German kits as you mentioned thanks for the help those german kits are very nice and you’re right they’re highly detailed The trailer might be a lowboy or a flat I don’t know just yet I have to go through my stash and figure out what I’m going to use I still have several of the KBRI heavy haul kits left. Thanks Ronnie for the complement yes it will have a dual winch I have a picture of it in the parts layout Edited April 19, 2019 by Pete68
