unclescott58 Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Here a couple of Howards I just completed. And I'm not talking about Shemp, Moe, or Curly. Instead Benny Howard's DGA-5 Ike, and DGA-6 Mr. Mulligan. These are Testor's reissues of old Hawk kits. Originally designed back in the the 1950's, they are a little crude kits by today's standards. Though they do a pretty good job, in general, of representing what both airplanes looked like. And despite the difference in size between the two planes, they are both 1/48 scale. Ike was that much smaller of an airplane compared to Mr. Mulligan. Im happy with how they turned out. I hope you like them too.

High octane Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Great job and I prefer Mr. Mulligan over Ike, just a personal taste.

Mr. Mulligan has a bolder, cooler look to me. Still I like Ike (and Mike). I just like Mr. Mulligan better. Oh, and thanks for compliment.
stavanzer Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 You hardly ever see these kits built. You've really done an outstanding job on both! Sharp and cleanly assembled. Great Job.
unclescott58 Posted April 26, 2019 Author Posted April 26, 2019 Just finished the stand that comes with Ike. Makes for a fun display. But, there is one problem. There is no pilot with this kit! Ike's about to crash! Still it looks pretty cool.
stavanzer Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Wow, I've not seen that stand since I built one in 1975. Neat stuff.
TooOld Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Great looking planes ! That stand is pretty cool too ! These Testors/Hawk reissues all build up nicely and for very little $$ .
