Scott Colmer Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 It's getting closer. A few more small projects and I'll be ready to break it down and start painting. Thanks for the previous replies. It keeps me gluing and sanding. Scott Hosted on Fotki

Chassis looks very good and the body, while not something I would have thought of, winds up very sleek and cool. It is similar to my buddy's streamliner with body by Jocko (see below). What is the canopy from? Is it of your sculpting? Richard

Scott Colmer Posted September 6, 2008 Author Posted September 6, 2008 Thanks everyone for the feedback. I like to create different stuff, because it is fun to look at and explore. Richard, Jocko is one of my favorite hot rod heros. The land speed car of your freind is killer! I occasionally take a trip to El Mirage. Maybe I,ll see that car. The canopy is my own design. The shell is two Aerotech fenders mated together and rehaped to reflect the inset "spear" on the side of the car. The black windshield is a buck used to shape the clear windscreen below. I made it from some old Squadron Thermoform. Heat until soft and pull down over the buck. This shot is before final trim and polishing it to clear again with a paint polish kit. I've been told that if you use a good hairdryer to heat the plastic it will not fog. Zukaholic, Thanks for the tip. I'll look for those blades. I still have all ten fingers too - despite using one after a glass of wine. DUMB! CA glue closed it right up. Scott Hosted on Fotki
ismaelg Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 This is sooooo cool I can't find the right words. I checked your progress album and ended up looking and carefully reading every single one of them. Absolutely FANTASTIC and inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
