I do think that basic skills should be learned and improved on continually. but that's for me. This is an individual hobby so each of us can build as we please. I just want to see more of the builds of kits so I can see what's in the box and maybe some good and bad before I get started. I think the reason that might be, is that only some model builders are all that involved in the internet side of the hobby. Or if they are, are lurkers, not participants. I've been a member of three local model clubs. MOST members are/were not a member of an online group, beyond the clubs page on Facebook.

But what do they look at while they are at work?! LOL I can barely stand facebook, so I don't look at those pages too much but am a member of some of them. THIS is my favoritest page for modeling on the internet. This is hard to work with on the phone though.

All it takes if someone to get a bad critique, or worse, ignored entirely, and that's it they are done with forums. As for Facebook, it is useful to me. However, if the social aspect is not your cup of tea, you CAN join, set up your privacy settings so that you are pretty well insulated from the rest of the world, and use it ONLY for the hobby. You control how much of your info is there. Model clubs, model manufacturers, aftermarket suppliers, resin casters, decal manufacturers, they are all there. I see a lot of people on this forum snub FB, but it's a tool. And like any tool, you have to know how to use it to get the effect you want. And you don't have to be a computer wiz to do it. FB has tools right on it to help you set up your privacy.
Tom Geiger Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 I wanted to use Facebook for family and friends, but the model aspect is taking over my feed! My wife will ask if I saw something about my cousin and no, my feed is all model car stuff!
