I swear, it looks like I have never done this, before. Lots of clean up, to do. I have made a helluva mess! I broke one of my uprights, so, will be replacing it...
echo Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 On a sad note Tom Jobe the last remaining member of the Surfers T/F team passed yesterday. I have lots of good memories of the Surfers. RIP Tom.
Daddyfink Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Tom was a very fine person and I am very grateful to have had some conversations with him about the Surfers and life in general. Vaya Con Dios.
Mike Williams Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Indeed, very sad to hear of his death. OK, on another note, check out echo's photo above. Low and behold….a car with really banged up headers. I'm struggling with headers for "The Old Master", getting them straight and aligned properly is a task….then I see these. I just decided mine are done. Dan....now you know for sure. Any headers will do, no problem. ?
Straightliner59 Posted September 10, 2019 Author Posted September 10, 2019 Tom was always helpful, when I asked for information. He shared great stories, too! I wish I hadn't become frustrated, years ago, when this project was pretty much stillborn. I always wanted for him to see my completed model. At the rate I build, I hope I get to see it completed! I have installed all the diagonals and cross bracing. Still need to clean it all up. Mike, there's no doubt, about that! Those are some beauties! I love stuff that looks used, on my models.
