Ironman63 Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 (edited) Ran across and thought I'd share: 1937 Hudson Terraplane Custom Pickup And I don't even like red!! Edited August 9, 2019 by Ironman63 add 2
The Junkman Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 I admire the craftsmanship that went into it but to me it looks like an instant caricature of something.

webestang Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Did Don Dowdy build that one? Here is one he did many years ago. 1
misterNNL Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Art deco styling overload. Are any more photos available ?

misterNNL Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Great articles. Thanks for posting the additional info.
The Junkman Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Now for some reason, I'm OK with the blue one. Excepting that its blue and has flames the main difference I see is that is has real, recognizable headlamps. Not like those ones in the red one that looked like some five year old attacked it with a pencil. Changes the whole front aspect.
Ironman63 Posted August 12, 2019 Author Posted August 12, 2019 After seeing the blue one, I prefer the one with the headlights above the fenders. To be honest, I didn't know Hudson even made a pickup until I saw the red one. There is a thread on the board discussing making a 3D printed grille for it. There is a good picture of a stock Terraplane in the first post. I would love to build one but I'm afraid it's too rare to be made in styrene.

Dan Dowdy built it and still owns it. I first became aware of this truck in 2006 so it already has over 17 years on it. If you want to see it in person, Dan is planning to bring this and his Studebaker to the Dolan Springs Community Celebration on October 7, 2023. 1
kermn8r Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 I don't think I got my text in the correct window on the above post.
