Woodstock 50 year Anniversary This Weekend

Not much goes on around here but every year we get people from all over to come to the original Woodstock site. This year is special, it's been 50 years since that iconic event and the county is busier than ever. Everyone is the Hippie spirit and it's great, check out some of the artwork on these Doves that are all over the county.

Far out man! The best concert ever! I was on 14 yo then and didn't get to go. I also really didn't quite know what it was about until it came out as a film.

A friend and myself started hitching and along the way joined up with a REAL hippy and his chick along the way.

Got to mid Ohio when we were busted for hitch hiking on an interstate ramp and they found a big bag of weed and about 15 tabs of acid in the hippy chick's bag!

They called our parents and stuck us on a bus back towards home! So missed out on the big concert!

Although I wouldn't trade what I have for anything, sometimes I wonder how things might have turned out different had we made it there!

I was 11 and watched the news coverage!   Too young!   

Funny story.... back when the album came out I had to have it. Probably because there was a naked couple on the cover!   I remember listening to it and I had never heard of the bands or the songs.   Today I can play that same album and I know all the words!   ?

They were trying to pull that off in my area, we have no venue large enough to handle the masses......, got shot down everywhere ...

I was married in Woodstock...the "Hippy Priest" (Father William Francis, the former archbishop of NY) presided. His church had an original Gutenburg bible!
