MPC Classic Krate bicycle kit

Recommended Posts

Just a heads up if you’re intending on building any of the three MPC Classic Krate kits. The instructions show the rear wheel being installed backwards. The slotted disc (chain guard) goes on the right side of the bike. The solid disc (disc brake) goes on the left side.

I contacted Round 2 to let them know and they drew up an addendum. It was incorrect in the original instructions as well.

Thanks Ben and John.  That is a highly surprising and super-quick turnaround on John's/Round 2's part.  TIM

I dropped into my LHS (Burbank's House of Hobbies) this afternoon to pick up some putty and had a pleasant surprise: the Sting Rays were back in stock! Picked one up, of course. Just FWIW, the addendum hasn't made it onto the instruction sheet yet.

No possible way it could be in them already. It's only been 8 days.

Things take time.
The R2 offices aren't sitting above a model kit factory and printing press, they are made elsewhere, much of the  time overseas and it takes a while for changes to make it to production.

It took 40 years before someone spotted the  issue and R2 fixed the manual in a day, kinda cool.
