Shambles Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Not sure who the driver of this #8 was, but he crashed. That seems to happen a lot with my builds that don't turn out well. I've been wrecking model cars for decades. A 1/2" deep socket and a Dremel torch work well for making flat tires. http://www.shamblesmodels.com/wrecked.html
Jim N Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Great work simulating the damage. Not sure what the problem was with the original. It looked good to me.
Shambles Posted August 22, 2019 Author Posted August 22, 2019 Thanks, Jim. I guess I'm still somewhat of a perfectionist but, at my age I need to get over that. The paint on this one was mediocre, the tires wouldn't seat on the rims, and a few other issues bothered me. Besides, it's always fun to crash one.

I went to Darlington several times in the 90s but, by then, they weren't doing the Darlington Stripe anymore. The new "stock" cars couldn't handle it.
