Another idea for your exhaust tip. Most OEM and almost all after market exhaust system will have a chrome tip if some sort. I use some aluminum tubing that just fits over the end of the exhaust. I use a miniature pipe cutter to cut the tip to length. You can easily add a flair to the end using a nail to shape the aluminum tip. A little polishing compound and it will look like a chrome tip and the thickness looks in scale.

How's about discarded boom box telescopic antennas for the chrome tips???? Those can be cut with tube cutter... Just finding the right diameter can be a little tricky.....

That stuff can also be used for stack fuel injector tubes.... I believe those antennas are made of chrome plated brass tube....

Good idea. I'll have to remember that if I ever come across a discarded boom box. I find it interesting how as a modeler you look at things in a different light as to how you can use that item in a model in someway. My wife doesn't through out anything without asking me first if I can use it. I have even gone into partially complete houses (with permission) After the electricians are thru looking for scraps of wire. Amazing how much wire these guys leave laying around on the floor that will be swept up and thrown away.

You can get this complete set of bits at Hobby Lobby.  I believe it's a bit cheaper than the price tag here, AND you can use your 40% off coupon.  This box works very well to keep the bits in order and from getting lost

Do you remember what section of Hobby Lobby? I am not seeing them at my local one.

I did buy a set like this several years ago, but they didn`t have the squadron name on them. I wonder if they were the same bits, or if another manufacturer placed their bits in the same container and repackaged them? Mine got dull pretty quickly. Are you happy with yours?

They were right in the model aisle, part of the carded merchandise over the paint display.

Squadron may buy and repackage them, that would make sense.   I break them before they go dull!  ?  I'm more likely to wind up with melted plastic stuck in the drill grooves,  I just burn that off with a match.

For the smaller bits, I glue them into a length of  rubber wire casing,  these were actually lengths of Detail Master heater hose.
