The Flintstone body is decent for the money, but I'd be inclined to try the conversion myself first.  As long as you don't cut up anything that you would need to use with the resin body, if the conversion works out then you are a few bucks ahead not having to buy the body.  I've thought about doing a Plymouth sedan, not sure how I'd cut the bodies though.

The Lindberg Dodge body does have rather wide C-pillars, which need some attention whether you build a Dodge or use the roof in a conversion.  The Dodge windshield is a bit on the flat side also.  I'd try to piece in the Plymouth cowl, not sure if there's enough extra material on its windshield glass to be usable with the taller sedan roof though.

Something I ran into on this very conversion.,,,,  the Plymouth body is about an 1/8" wider than the Dodge body so the roof needs split down the middle and widened to make it work on the Plymouth lower body.

If I try again, I may just remove the Flinstone resin 64 Plymouth roof and transplant it on a stryene kit  lower body

So if you use the Lindberg Dodge chassis and floor, it would be too wide for the 64 JF body? The Lindberg 64 cars do seem to look like they are a bit wide. The JoHan Polara looks more correct to me, anyway.

I was planning on the using the Lawman chassis, or the 64 Dodge chassis. I really don’t want to get into transplanting the roofs.

From what I remember from looking at the Lawman chassis, it seemed like it has the same exact parts that the Dodge cars has in their kits. The Lawman car was a Lindberg  kit just now in an AMT box.

Was the Maverick K member any different than Color Me Gone car to mount a Hemi? Or are their chassis parts the same as well?

The parts are similar but not from the same tooling.  Obviously the same masters were used for some parts.  The first kit (Color Me Gone Dodge) was made based on a modern replica, it has slightly widened rear wheel tubs and an incorrect rear axle that was copied in the Plymouth kit.  The width inconsistency is baffling.  Jo-Han got those things right 99% of the time, plus.

I don't remember anything else about it, and right now have NO idea where its at ( we moved across country last year and 90% of my model stuff is still packed away.)

Best I can remember the lettering on the  decklid trim across the back  was so faint  and/or full of pinholes . There was no way was it going to survive even a few coats of primer , paint and clear . I think I had decided my best option was just eliminate it altogether and move on . Then the make my own idea popped in my head .

I started a conversion of my own using the Dodge sedan roof on the Plymouth hardtop body. . I got as far as a basic trim and fit then shelved it for some reason . No idea where even its at right now

I'm in process of configuring the garage / making a  model work bench area . But its at least a couple months away from completion due to I have other projects I have to complete before any model bench time can resume .

Here is one that I did a few years ago..Dodge 330 2 dr sedan on Belvedere body..

Don't paint it in a light metallic color or use black primer..It shows awful and all the flaws..

Nice work on that build, Wayne.

If I decide to use the 64 Lawman chassis, I don’t think there should be any problems. I know I have quite a few un built Hemi engines in my stash.

As soon as I get another car or two that are already started, I’m going to start this one.

Btw that JF body cleaned up real nice. I think it’s a really nice cast. I’ll post a pic later.

I'll edit my original statement.

There were in fact .,,facyory built hemi powered 2 door hardtops

But they're were not light weights and had the stock 4 head light grille.

Yet had the same wide flat hood scoop the hemi sedans came equipped with.

Still digging for info on interior choices avail for these .

Hemi sedans were all light weights.(aluminum front sheetmetal )  2 head light grille.  With the bostrom style light weight bucket seat interior. No back seat.

Found a fairly decent pic of an interior from a Mecum auction. Plain door panels with no armrest, light weight seats, and a black floor mat.

This is a Hemi car.

Here is another Hemi car I found.

Could this be a clone?  Or just a non lightweight Hemi hardtop car that you mentioned Bill?

Sorry for all the questions, but man, Mopar has a lot of stuff out there. Between Belvedere, Savoy, Fury, Scamps, Swingers, Dusters, Gold Dusters, Space Duster, Coronets, Roadrunners, etc. But I’m learning... lol

Dodge and comparable plymouth models had different wheelbases. Drove Landy crazy why his 63 plymouth was faster than the 64 dodge. figured the shorter wheelbase was hookin better. thus the first funny car 1964 awb dodge. in 1964 one could get a11.5 to 1cr 426 at 415hp, any full size body all steel full interior any color no hood scoop. the engine to race was the 09 code 425hp max wedge available any full size body all steel full factory interior no hood scoop. the lightweight package code y9 was only available with engine code o9 and had aluminum fenders, fender wells hood and scoop lower valance radiator support bumper and brackets, some parts acid dipped,no carpet insulation sound deadener heater radio battery moved to trunk 1964 interior color red only, hemi code A864, 1965 code changed to A990 with interior color champaign only tho Mopar did not call it that .1964 was the last year for aluminum, they then started acid dipping alot more in 1965. I hope I was of some help

Thanks for posting the pics, Bill.

Didnt the Lindberg Dodge Kits have a differential that is not correct?

Both the Dodge and the Plymouth have a Dana rear axle.

That was never avail in 1964

I dunno Bill, this JF body looks pretty good to me.

What was the problem with yours exactly? This one seems a bit of wavy under the trunk trim, but should be an easy fix.

I’ll still most likely buy a Bandit one also, since I have a lot of extra parts for these cars.
