Modlbldr Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Can anyone tell me a vendor who sells a distributor like this on pictured here? Later- video-survival-motorsports-builds-blown-thousand-horsepower-fe2.webp
ScottH454 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 (edited) I really don't think you'll find any caster doing one of those with it being so small. The 3D print option would likely get you a nice one but I bet would be pretty fragile. I was just looking at one thinking I should cast one but I don't have anything ready. I went an looked for one to show people what your asking about. I have another version with a coil wire coming out the front too. Google his file name to find the video. Scott, Are either of those from a kit? If so, which kit? Later-
Jon Haigwood Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Replicas & Miniatures has a "crab " style distributor cap that you maybe able to mount on a regular distributor body and get what you are looking for
Modlbldr Posted October 15, 2019 Author Posted October 15, 2019 Thanks Jon. I'll have to check those out. Hopefully there is something more accurate though. Later-

ScottH454 Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 (edited) Then part in the first photo I posted is from 1998 'Chill Factor' Oldsmobile Pro Stock, the second is from a Johan engine kit off eBay. The Johan one looks like it would be too big. The first one is more accurate to what your looking for with the exception being the coil wire out the front but that would be drilling a hole. I'm making molds so I'll give this little guy a shot, but those plug boots are tiny. Edited October 15, 2019 by ScottH454
Modlbldr Posted October 15, 2019 Author Posted October 15, 2019 I think the one from the Chill Factor would work. I'd be up for buying a couple, if you mold them. Let me know. I'll keep looking till then to see if I can find one. Later-
Modlbldr Posted October 19, 2019 Author Posted October 19, 2019 I found one at the bottom of a box of parts that I had on hand. Man, now I see what ScottH454 meant about delicate! Later-
ScottH454 Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 So was it like the one pictured? I'd make a mold of a collection of caps so if there where different variants let me know what to look for. Also while we are on the topic if I where to package this cap how would you like to buy them? Would you buy these in a two pack, 2 pack with 6" of plug wire? I make a lot of smaller parts that seem to small to bag an price at $3.
Modlbldr Posted October 22, 2019 Author Posted October 22, 2019 Scott, It was like the first one you pictured without the coil wire connection. I'd prefer them in a two pack with or without wire. Later-
