So I built this back in 2004 I think. Maybe 2005. And thought that it can be better. Much better actually. The green just doesn’t work. Not sure why I chose green at the time. And it needs white wall tires. So In the purple bath it goes.
I’m thinking Rio Red with matching interior. And the search begins for white walls and other parts it may be missing...or need.

I have often looked at a model I built years ago and wondered what I was thinking, it could be color or some other detail. Corvette offered some interesting colors at that time and Red was one of the more popular ones. I'm looking at the picture and I notice the front bumpers look rather thick, meaning they stick out from the body further than I would think. Could be the angle of the photo but something to look at anyway.

I like the green.  Not really a fan of red Corvettes.  Wide whites?  Yep.   And those bumpers are ponderous.  I'd detail the chorme and leave it if I were looking at it on my shelf.  Good luck with the redo though.

It looks like the rear bumpers are glued on the front and the fronts are glued on the rear??

Yeah you are probably right with the bumpers. I don’t have the instructions for reference but will keep that in mind once I get it back together.

Ther rear bumpers are completely different.  Maybe they aren't seated all the way?   BUT,  other photos I found are similar.   Revell kit right?

Yeah revell pro modeler kit. I suppose once I get the body stripped down I will post a mock up photo.

More long days at work and not enough free time to build. But here’s an update. Got the body stripped and primed. Just got the paint today so will shoot it tomorrow. Also got some white wall tires.
I plan to paint it tomorrow and then clear it Sunday. Throw it in the dehydrator for a few days. Maybe I will have it done next weekend.

The Tangerine Kandy looks good. The Rio Red may have looked a little dark over the dark colored primer. Most of the bright colors like that show better over a white or even a silver primer. Are you painting the cove white ?

Yeah the interior was white and when I sprayed that with the rio red I noticed it was much brighter then over the primer. Either one I didn't like.

Yes the coves are staying white.

Well here it is. The bumpers are correct going off the box art.  I like the matching interior over the previous version.
don’t know if I will redo a model again as it seems to be just as much work as building from a fresh kit. Either way it was fun.
