1969 Falcon modified stocker

Hi all, if this is in the wrong spot please feel free to move it! This is the AMT 69 Falcon modified stocker. Built pretty much box stock as a just completed never raced car! The only thing I did was to use an interior tub from the parts box since this kit doesn’t come with one. Overall I was happy with the way this turned out! I have the other stocker kits and look forward to building those! As always criticisms and comments welcome!

Cool!  I have parts from a few of these in a box.  I used it as a template to build my '64 Valiant stocker.  Did you cut treads into those kit tires?  The ones in my kits are bald as slicks which turned me off to the kit.  I used different tires on my Valiant.

Tom, yes I “tried” to cut treads in the tires, they are just straight grooves. A cross pattern would have been nicer! What tires did you use on your Valiant? They look really good!

I hate to say "I don't know!"  I started that Valiant over ten years ago and the tires have been on the Falcon rims since then.  I wish I knew as I have an idea for a Falcon modified stocker.  If I figure it out I will let you know!

I just pulled the Valiant out of my case and took two quick photos of the tires..

They are Goodyear tires, the rears are larger, with a width of 5/8" of an inch, the fronts are 1/16" more narrow.  They are marked Blue Streak, and For Racing Use Only on the side wall.  

 

These tires are much smaller than the huge slicks that come with the Falcon.  They look right on the Valiant, but may look small on the Falcon as it's much larger.  I believe the Falcon is over sized, as it should be about the same size as the Valiant in real life.  I'm hoping someone here can ID these tires!

The Falcon stocker tires were way too large for the Valiant.  Here's an early shot making it look like a lunar rover or something.

And a further clue on the tires.... note that they came with webbing in them...

Tom thanks for the photos and tips on the tires! I'm going to have to dig they my tire box and see if I have any of those!
