Got some paint work done on my 40 willy gasser wheels. I wanted magnesium with using what I have, 50/50 testors graphite gray metallic and testors flat steel. I think im satisfied with the results.20251023_174505.jpg.8fface748f475f72984ad0762179f656.jpg20251023_174515.jpg.b5f3aeb50674a9b86021bb3e735bcfcb.jpg20251023_174530.jpg.70d7be1ceb16266b9f6a928d3285c887.jpg

To me, that magnesium color looks spot on! Nice work and nice build too.

Thanks man, I was not expecting it to be that good, but what do you know.

Finished sorting through all the paints I picked up over the weekend. Not many casualties, almost all the model master, polly scale and tamiya were good after a quick stir. 70 new paints need racks now. Still have to deal with the 52 humbrol, I don't think the opened ones are any good.

I am trying to learn better paint and polishing techniques. I elected to use this body for a test mule. I primed it with Tamiya grey then painted it with Mr. Color #77 metallic green. I very lightly rubbed a spot on the roof and trunk with #3000 trizact to remove some boogers. Then I cleared it with three coats of Duplicolor perfect match gloss. I suspected that the sanded spots would show since it is a metallic paint…and it does. However, this is only a test mule so now I know better for any future project.🤓 I then wet sanded the right half of the roof with 4,6,8 and 10,000 and polished it with the three Tamiya compounds.

Did some work on the Skyline... I had it ready and then stuff, so pond it went, and you can see where the body broke in the cowl area. I will goop it tomorrow morning and let it dry while I am working.  I shot it grey primer so I can see what I have to do to get it ready for the pink primer.

Primed some small engine bay parts for it, and primed the chassis parts for the Longbed Datsun I have going.  Primed the bottom sides of the hoods for the Pontiac and the Hudson. Painted the Hudson engine Copper, turned out nice. Will detail it before adding more parts of the assembly to it, which I have to prime and paint and detail.
