I wanted magnesium with using what I have, 50/50 testors graphite gray metallic and testors flat steel. I think im satisfied with the results. To me, that magnesium color looks spot on! Nice work and nice build too.

johnyrotten Posted Monday at 11:12 PM Posted Monday at 11:12 PM Finished sorting through all the paints I picked up over the weekend. Not many casualties, almost all the model master, polly scale and tamiya were good after a quick stir. 70 new paints need racks now. Still have to deal with the 52 humbrol, I don't think the opened ones are any good. 1
NOBLNG Posted Tuesday at 06:05 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:05 PM (edited) I am trying to learn better paint and polishing techniques. I elected to use this body for a test mule. I primed it with Tamiya grey then painted it with Mr. Color #77 metallic green. I very lightly rubbed a spot on the roof and trunk with #3000 trizact to remove some boogers. Then I cleared it with three coats of Duplicolor perfect match gloss. I suspected that the sanded spots would show since it is a metallic paint…and it does. However, this is only a test mule so now I know better for any future project.🤓 I then wet sanded the right half of the roof with 4,6,8 and 10,000 and polished it with the three Tamiya compounds.
