This.. this is what I am working on.... 4th time in the tub... gonna have to shoot this pig outside  I am thinking.... this bath is courtesy of floaties in the air, and not being able to sand them out, so pitched it in the bath.

That sucks. It was looking great.

Got the pink primer down on the Skyline, got the Hudson in grey primer and of course obligatory pic of the copper engine. I am going with.

Got some other random parts painted too. Getting closer to doing some assembly on a couple other kits chassis wise.

Can I ask a question? In general, what is the pink primer used for? I bought a can a while back but haven't used it. Is it only for red paints?

Added chrome trim around the front grill, whatever was on the kit looked like a mold seam or flash. Had to make a couple tool to shape and scribe this.

So, I like it as a base for red, and also under silver.

The couple spots I have used it for red, it deepens it but nothing too dark.

Plus it's a good quality primer.

It really was, I did get it scrubbed today, so should get it back in primer tonight.

👍👍. Fingers crossed no pterodactyls or dust.

Facts! Gonna shoot the color from now on outside with this build, aside from the primer.

You have a booth, correct? Sometimes I feel mine is drawing the dust in. I always have some little speck or something.

Yes sir, I have times even after cleaning it, I get massive dust bunnies.

For me it's been stalled project week. I brought down three different builds I started quite a while ago and have been chipping away at them. I have one almost done and the other two are coming along nicely. Now if I can only keep the progress going.

That's great you are getting progress, I get an hour at most a night for bench time. So I chip away and make progress bit by bit.  You got this man!!

And a bit more done tonight as well, Skyline is in primer, gonna let it sit 3-4 days before doing the silver base.

Painted some of the interior pieces for the Datsun.  Primed the other parts of the interior as well.

Threw some paint on this odd duck as well....

Breaking the rear glass that I was trying to get out of the 1967 Comet I recently bought. No photo needed to picture that. LOL

I did that to the front windshield of my '69 Torino while trying to take it out (of the completed model that had been glued together for two years) to fix a fit issue. Split right in half down the middle. But I was able to cut up the windshield from the 2012 Corvette kit (that I'll never build) to replace it.

Yes. This one was built when I bought it. Tried to carefully get it out. Shout it was going to work. But then it happened. I have a 67 Chevelle to do also but I think I'll try the soak and freeze to see how that works. I might be able to make the Comet rear out of a soda bottle as it seems pretty flat.

Got some paint laid down today, details on the Sunny Datsun, and more interior pieces painted.

2nd coat on the Hudson, tomorrow will bring clear.

And the Catalina build where I posted as well.

If the glass is in nice condition but just too risky to try and remove I just polish it in place and then mask tape it on both sides.  Works well for me when needed.

Got the grille fitted up tonight. Between recessing it back and the added trim, it doesn't look too bad.

Looking good; I built one of these a few years ago, it was a pretty nice kit. I’d build another one as I had plans to turn one into a Belvedere.

Nice roadrunner Nathan.  The gaps around the grill were really bugging me with this kit, but all in all it's pretty good.
