ewetwo Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 They are in the AMT 1965 Grand Prix “Grand Slam” kit. No mention in the instructions as what to do with them. Thank you..
ChrisBcritter Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 (edited) It's a wheel used for drive tests; IIRC it shows the correct speed to check the speedometer for accuracy. It should have more spokes like a bicycle wheel; AMT based it on the '27 T/'29 A outer wheel to fit the available tire. Edited January 15, 2020 by ChrisBcritter
Mike999 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 (edited) That's the road test wheel and its bracket. Back in the day, a wheel was mounted outside the car and connected to the test equipment console inside. That GP kit also has the console. AMT took that wheel from somewhere else, maybe the '27 Model T. It should look like a bicycle wheel, or the front wheel of a vintage dragster, with thin spokes.. ewetwo Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 So it's really just there for nothing? That wheel does fit in it. It's about the size of a half dollar. Thank guys. I know someone would know.
ChrisBcritter Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 It's not for nothing - when the model rolls off the shelf, you know more accurately how fast it went!
