does anyone know how to make the mechanisms  for the retractable devices as both of my pieces to control the 

retractable top

Revell made a kit of this car in 1/25 scale, that one has an operational top.  Maybe get one of those, or the instruction sheet, to get an idea of how the mechanism would fit and work.

yea i have the revell kit it's a larger scale but you're right I can go by the larger mech's and go to the smaller scale didn't think of that appreciate the help

Mike, I'm not sure what you are asking about.  I assume that you have that kit and instructions.

I built that Gunze 1:32  kit over 20 years ago, IIRC following the instructions. It does retract as advertised.  ONe thing I had to do was to shorten the short front piece of the roof. For some reason it was too long.  But it works.

Here is a photo of my model, also taken 20 years ago (with the roof up).
