Geno Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 (edited) Hello all, I am finally trying to get back into a groove so I picked this up over the weekend for 20 bucks at a model show. It is the Classic Metal Works '58 in Sierra Gold. I wanted this one for the color like the DM version but I don't like the slope of the DM rump or the 'roid. I did start the BMF on this one but it is coming apart for a full detail with PE scripts, carpeting and so forth. I also blackwashed the hubcaps as well. Wish me luck lol. Love the paint on this one, it is glass smooth. Edited March 11, 2020 by Geno
randyc Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Make sure the metal is solid if you haven't already. Only car I've ever had to crumble apart in 1/24 was the CMW 49 Mercury. If you;ve handled, you probably have an idea already. And the rear quarters look level on this one. SO it's right? Might have to look for one of these. That slope on the DM and Welly or Motormax(?) is definitely annoying if you look too much. Photo looks right on. I can never bring myself to start on my AMT Plastic kit. A LOT of work to build it nicely and I just don't get time to put into a more complicated kit anymore. Can't wait to see more of this one. Progress photos if you think about? I always forget to take complete photos.
Geno Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 I'll try to remember to do the progression photos Randy. I'm not too good about doing that lol. I have a few CMW models and all of them are pretty nicely done. I've had the '67 Charger for about 10 years now and it's still beautiful. Nice enough I didn't buy the DM version. This one is nice and the paint is gorgeous.?
Gramps46 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 This is really looking good. Had not seen one up close before so will watch your build with interest.
