marty blackmon Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 I live in South Carolina and we have been racing 1/24 scale plastic models on and off for more than 40 years. All cars are of Nascar model kits . . . Is there anyone else that races these cars ?
matthijsgrit Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 Check the "Model Car Racing" segment in the homepage of this forum, would be my suggestion.
Dwight55 Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 We race 1/24th and HO here in northern ILL, but it's not always Nascar. Dirt, modifieds, and Indy to name a few
marty blackmon Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 Awesome!! . . . check out our videos on youtube and see what you think ??? . . . search "Real Model Car Racing"
mikemodeler Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 There is a model car club , SCMA - South Carolina Modelers- that has several shows throughout the year and they had a group display last year of guys who are into drag racing. There have been modelers who came to the show looking to buy model kits for the purpose of using the bodies for racing. There is a show scheduled for May 16th in Simpsonville, not sure if it will still be held with the coronavirus issues but if not they usually have one in July in Lexington.
Brian Austin Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 I tried for a few years to get my club to try gravity racing at our show, to no avail. It would be similar to Pinewood Derby, only with plastic models.
