Gt fan Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 I stated this one about a year ago and then put it away to get the decals that I wanted for the kit. This is the Aoshima kit. The carbon decals are from ST 27 which are way to shinny and Tamiya fine . Thank lol be using the Scale Motorsports detail set. There carbon sheet only does the outside of the car.
Rich Chernosky Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Looks real good so far Tim. Carbon fibre is an artform all by itself and it looks like you have it mastered.
Gt fan Posted April 28, 2020 Author Posted April 28, 2020 It’s been a while since I added to this. Here are some new pictures. Carbon is from studio 27, Tamiya and Scale Motorsports. The threaded hubs can from a MFH FXX transkit. It’s been a challenge with this kit. You really need to look at what and where the carbon goes. A bunch of it isn’t seen.
Ben Brown Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 I have the Gulf version in my stash. Taking note on how it’s done! Ben

Lovely detailing all round, and the heat effected paint on the exhaust looks convincing. Looking forward to seeing more.

You need setting solution and a hair dryer. I use a square tip brush . Helps to work the decals into body lines . Body was painted today.
Ben Brown Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Thanks for the link! Lots of good reference photos there. Ben
