Looks freaking great!!!!! But I have a few questions being new into doing trucks.

How did you get the front wheels inboard? I know they stick out to far on this (building one myself)

How is the triple axle done? I'd like to do one someday

Is that the AMT Lowboy? Are those the tires that are included? They seem smaller than the truck tires and my lowboy they are the same as the truck.

Thanks and again... Awesome build

It looks really good with a trailer and a load on  it. I like the way tall stacks look but I am one those tall stack guys.  LOL

Nice paint design. Fits that truck perfect.

Lucas, Thank you. If I remember correctly the sad, solid kit stacks were actually taller. The paint scheme was inspired by this truck I just swapped the bottom colors.

Andy, Thanks!

Regarding the front axle. My cat ran off and lost my front axle during the build. I used the axle from a parted out Ford LN800 Coke truck as a substitute. The width correction we will call a happy accident.

The triple drive was accomplished from building two complete Freightliners at the same time. The 75th Anniversary kit(s) have a number of extra parts which helped a lot. In addition, I just happened to have one lonely parts box axle. I utilized BOTH the SD and DD the rear spring sets from the kit. I added to the frame rails in the middle to push the tandem axles rearward while still maintaining the fender mounts. It required patience and multiple mock ups to build certain sub-assembles out of order to get the length just right. I measured carefully in order to be able to use the drive shafts at stock length. The extra matching rear wheels and tires came from the 2nd 75th anniversary kit which left IT short a set. This would be fine If you build the 2nd kit as an SD.

Yes that is the AMT Lowboy. It too was modified for length. You are correct, the tires in my old lowboy kit ARE smaller than the newer Freightliner's tires. The rims have also been swapped out with my doubles trailer.

Here is a link to that build:

Those cats!!! My cat likes to take tires from me, so I get it.

So there are 2 front dual drive axles... Got it. My build has a stretched frame also, I used the rear frame from the DD and the front frame from the SD which made it much easier for me.

Okay, one more question.... what did those smaller wheel and tires come from? My first thought was the Dodge L700, but they are only a little bit shorter. Yours looks more correct IMO.

Thanks!

Andy, Yes, effectively there are two forward DD axles.

The lowboy wheels are from an AMT Doubles trailer kit. The tires came in the lowboy kit.

Interesting that the tires with my current lowboy kit are the same as my truck. Guess I will be searching out some tires.

Nice looking rig very well finished. What did you use for the antennas?

I bought them from Auslowe. They appear to be hair or fiber from a soft brush. When I painted them white, the paint beaded up evenly by accident. It was as though there was oil in the strand. Anyway, it makes for an accidental simulation of wire wrapped fiber glass rod. The tip is simply a dip in Testors red enamel.
