Ralphie Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Just needs some decals or stickers for Toymakers group. The ToyMakers is a group of retired men and women who for over thirty years have donated their time and talents producing handmade wooden toys for distribution to hospitalized and needy children.Over 400,000 toys have been given to many organizations dedicated to the children in need. We make the toys using scrap wood along with paint, wheels, and dowels for axles. We are a 501(3)(C) non-profit group who's members volunteer to make the toys and receive no monetary compensation. The ToyMakers home base is in New Port Richie, Florida. Currently over 20,000 toys are made annually and distributed to hospitals and organizations in and around the Tampa Bay area. We here in Tavares (Royal Harbor community) are a satellite branch currently making toys for hospitals and children's facilities in the Tavares/Leesburg area. We are currently distributing toys to AdventHealth Waterman hospital, Ronald McDonald house, Children's Advocacy Center in Leesburg, Guardian Ad Litem in Tavares, and the Tavares Fire and Rescue department. I've included some pictures of the toys we are making here locally. The red car is called a Corvette and the green car is called our Race Car. As you can see, the toys either have painted graphics or stickers like the numbers shown. What I am looking for is preferably 1/2" to 1" stickers or decals that are car related such as Mobil One, Sunoco, Hurst, STP, or anything you might see on a race car. I can use a stickers larger then 1.0" and those I can put on the tops of the cars, but preferably the smaller stickers. Anything you model builders can donate would be wonderful. I would also ask that if anyone in your group can make a suggestion as to what PC software they might recommend I can use to print stickers would also be helpful. Thank You Ralph Esposito
peteski Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Good idea! You might want to contact some local sign makers, or car-wrap companies. They print stickers on vinyl film and might be interested in making few hundred for you (maybe even for free, or reduced cost for your cause). Of course it will be even less expensive if you design the artwork and all they have to do is print and cut them for you. For designing artwork I use Corel Draw (similar to Adobe Illustrator), and there is a freeware version of this type of software. It is called inkscape.
Goose1957 Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 Call or write to Jegs or Summit. Both are performance automotive parts sellers with huge lines of auto performance parts catalogs. They hand out stickers at the drag races like they were going out of style. I'll bet if you contacted them and told them your story, they'd probably reach out to all of their suppliers and get you all kinds of stickers. Good luck, looks like a worthy project. Jeff
